Life of a Jackal

Another day a new beginning

Bananas contain three natural sugars – sucrose,
fructose and glucose – combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant,
sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proved that
just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute
workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s
leading athletes.

A banana can help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must for our daily diet.
some pluses of eating bananas…

Depression, PMS, Anemia, Blood Pressure, Brain power, Constapation, Hangovers, Heartburn, Nerves, Ulcers, Stress, Strokes,

so..”A banana a day keeps the doctor away!”

Shutdown After

This is a quickie. Ever wish you had a snooze button for your PC? For example, you have a job running that you know will take about an hour to run, so you’d like to be able to tell your computer to shutdown after 2 hours. While this can be done with the task scheduler, it’s far easier to use a small, dedicated utility to perform this function. And that’s exactly what Shutdown After is.

Platypus is a Firefox extension which lets you modify a Web page from your browser — “What You See Is What You Get” — and then save those changes as a Greasemonkey script so that they’ll be repeated the next time you visit the page. Editing pages to suit your needs is dandy — but making those changes “permanent” is the real payoff.

Tunatic names that tune

There are several tools out there that will identify your music, such as MusicBrainz Tagger, but Tunatic is a bit different. Its sole purpose is to identify music you play it through your computer’s microphone. So, if you’re listening to the radio and hear a song and want to know what it is, you can hold your microphone up to the speaker and in a few seconds Tunatic will, or so its makers claim, identify the song. It’s supposed to work for music of any genre except classical and be able to identify different versions and mixes of the same song. I don’t know when the last time I listened to the radio while at the computer was, but I suppose this could be useful for some people. Tunatic is available for both Mac and Windows.
